The country is preparing to update the rules on cash withdrawals from bank accounts by business entities. The relevant draft joint resolution was developed by the National Bank, the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, and the Ministry of Finance.
Key changes
The draft provides for:
- Updating references in the current document in accordance with the new Tax Code;
- Introducing new forms for entrepreneurs to provide information;
- An appendix with information on the purpose of the funds withdrawn, which will allow for more transparent tracking of cash usage.
Timeline and discussion
According to the National Bank, the project is scheduled for implementation in the first quarter of 2026.
Current rules
Today, entrepreneurs are required to:
- provide documents confirming the purpose of cash withdrawals;
- give consent to the transfer of data to tax authorities;
- wait for the bank to verify that there are no grounds for refusal.
At the same time, small and medium-sized businesses are subject to a monthly cash withdrawal limit of 20 million tenge.
Upcoming changes to the rules for withdrawing cash from bank accounts are aimed at increasing transparency and strengthening control over financial flows. For businesses, this means additional requirements for documentation and compliance with procedures, which may complicate operations and increase the burden on entrepreneurs. In such conditions, it is particularly important to adapt to the new rules in a timely manner in order to avoid the risks of account blocking and legal violations. FChain KZ is ready to provide comprehensive legal support to entrepreneurs — from consultations on new requirements to full support for operations, helping businesses maintain flexibility and confidence in the face of changing regulations.
